    • White is best for:
      • all around utility
      • full color illumination
    • Night vision green:
      • helps you to retain night vision (some people think it works even better than red lights!)
      • is tremendously bright
      • does not frighten deer
    • Ultraviolet has many uses, which are detailed below. WARNING! Intense UV light can cause eye damage if viewed directly. Keep away from children!
      • Scorpion Detection: All scorpions glow when exposed to Ultraviolet light making them easier to locate. This unique characteristic is due to fluorescent chemicals in their cuticle or outer shell.

      • Enhancing Glow-in-the Dark Fishing Lures: The farther away that a fish can see your lure the more fish you will attract. Fish are known to be attracted by vivid colors; by adding bright light emitted by glow-in-the-dark lures you can attract and catch more fish. Make sure to carry a UV light with you to keep your glow-in-the-dark lures not only glowing, but glowing brightly.
      • Sanitary Analysis: Ultraviolet light can aid in the detection of organic mineral deposits that remain on surfaces where periodic cleaning and sanitizing is not properly accomplished. Phosphate soaps and urine fluoresce making them easy to detect using UV inspection. Pet urine deposits in carpeting or other hard surfaces can be detected for accurate treatment and the removal of mineral tracers and odor causing bacteria that feed on the proteins within.
      • Identify Counterfeits: sensitive documents (e.g. credit cards, driver's licenses, passports) generally have a UV watermark that is visible only under a UV-emitting light.
      • Analyzing Minerals: Ultraviolet light causes certain minerals to fluoresce, depending on the mineral it will react differently to ultraviolet light. Some may produce bright and vibrant colors while others are barely visible. Specimens will also react differently depending on the nanometer of the UV light that you use to illuminate your subject. Only certain minerals will fluoresce in the 370-380 or 400-410nm range.

      • UV Curing: UV light can aid in the curing of certain inks, paints, coatings and adhesives. When exposed to UV light, polymerization occurs, making the product harden or cure. UV light curing is very helpful because this reaction is usually very quick, a matter of a few seconds.
